Dear redeemed in Christ,

As we draw near to Holy Week and the Hope-packed Easter season, I encourage you to make an extra effort to pay very close attention to the words in our hymns.  Our rich hymnody provides us with many, many hymns that are not only a joy to sing (I know we are still getting used to many of them!), but they are also packed with God’s Word.  The hymns from our hymnal (Lutheran Service Book) truly do teach us the Christian faith.  They proclaim Christ and His Word. That is why we ought to pay attention to what we are singing.  This is the great benefit we have in the hymns we sing.  Not only is our Lutheran (historical) liturgy packed with God’s Word, along with the Scripture readings and the sermon, but so also our hymns.  So, seize the day as we sing and study those words.  They really are a great instructor of the faith!  May the Lord bless you in the days ahead as we prepare to celebrate the chief festival of the church year on April 20th–The Resurrection of Our Lord.

Our annual Palm Sunday Brunch, sponsored by the Ladies of Holy Trinity, is April 13th.  Delicious egg casseroles will be provided.  Each family is asked to bring a coffee cake, bread or muffins, or a fruit salad to share.  Hard boiled eggs will also be served.  A free will offering will be available.
