Beloved in Christ,
“We praise You, O God, and acknowledge You to be the Lord!” And that’s the theme statement of this year’s Vacation Bible School at Holy Trinity under the theme “TE DEUM.” The Te Deum Laudamus is an ancient canticle of the Matins prayer service in our hymnal. In our Vacation Bible School, the children and the volunteers, are learning God’s name–God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit–the Holy Triune God. Because of Jesus’ life, suffering, death, and resurrection, and having been grafted into God’s name and made His child and an heir of salvation through the waters of Holy Baptism, so we Christians praise God, and acknowledge Him to be the Lord. We praise and thank Him for all His marvelous works. And by grace through faith in Christ, we cherish His blessings of forgiveness, life, and salvation, and in gratitude and praise, we seek to honor Him and continually pray that His kingdom would come to us and that His name would be hallowed in our lives.
And by Christ alone (for His sake), the Father invites His children (Christians) to pray–to talk to Him in prayer and be confident that He hears us and answers us. And so, Jesus has given us His Prayer–the Lord’s Prayer, so that we rightly understand how to pray. The Lord’s Prayer is the focus of our instruction this week in Vacation Bible School.
I invite you to join us this evening, Wednesday and Thursday evenings this week for our Opening Worship at 6:00PM and for our Closing Worship at 7:50PM. The kids and volunteers would love for you to come and join us. The Lord has blessed us with about 20 volunteers and with three children. Come join us for the entire evening from 6:00–8:00PM.
